Another one bites the dust. I feel so old saying this every year, but man, this year flew by. While writing my 2024 highlights article (linked here), I realized that although I wasn’t looking forward to recapping 2024, I am still excited to set and crush my goals in 2025. I’ve stayed positive and have been encouraged that there is a season for everything in life, and there is still plenty of time to do the things that I want to do.

Recap on 2024

Before setting my goals for 2025, I will recap my 2024 goals.

Business recap

My three goals in business were to scale my wholesale business to 5 deals a month, reach more readers for BBM, and flip two houses. While I didn’t scale my wholesale business as planned, I am proud that I didn’t quit like I wanted to at times and kept it at a manageable pace, averaging 1-2 deals a month. We break this down to approximately 2,000-3,000 calls, leading to 400-600 conversations, resulting in 40-60 leads that turn into 10-12 opportunities and, ultimately, 1-2 closings a month. Wholesaling is a numbers game, and while scaling is simple math, managing the people and details bogs me down. For now, this is manageable, and I’m content with how it is going. The lesson I learned here is that sometimes, adjusting your goals to match your current capacity and circumstances is okay.

We did reach more readers with BBM. We gained more subscribers and have an excellent read rate of our content with our subscribers. I published my first guest post on White Coat Investor, which was very controversial, and was given the opportunity to contribute to the UCAOA’s monthly journal. We have been consistent, and with our schedules, that’s a win.

We successfully flipped one house and took on another project while I was on maternity leave. The second project has been somewhat of a challenge, but it is finally nearing completion, and we expect to profit from both of them. This has been fun; I have enjoyed involving the kids, and my husband benefits from the sales.

Personal recap

My personal goals last year were to focus on family bonding with our third addition, focus on physical health during pregnancy and postpartum, and attend a medical service trip.

Our third little guy is the perfect addition to our family. He slipped right into the chaos, and it’s been very special to watch the older kids bond with him and grow into their new roles.

I stayed active while pregnant until the last 2 months, and it only took me 10 weeks postpartum to get back into the gym. My old knees haven’t tolerated running as much as I would have liked, but I still enjoy pickup basketball games and long walks with the kids to stay active.

I didn’t make it on a service trip this year, which I would like to blame on the dates not working with my schedule- but honestly, I just couldn’t make it happen between being pregnant and having the new baby. It’s still on my to-do list but didn’t happen in 2024.

Financial recap

My three financial goals were to increase cash flow with a new side hustle, accumulate one rental property to start building assets, and add another income stream to the real estate business. While I didn’t start another side hustle for myself, I helped my son start one, and that has been so much fun. I also didn’t secure a rental property, although we got close a few times. We expanded our real estate business to provide more short-term loans that offer a more regular income stream, and I am excited to continue to grow this further.

What are your top 3 business goals in 2025?

1. Scale BBM

This is a big goal for me this year. I believe in BBM’s mission and the content we publish, and I want to see how far we can take it this year by making a concerted effort to reach more people. We have plans to attend conferences, take on podcast appearances, and potentially publish content in new ways. Overall, I am excited to see what comes this year for BBM.

    2. Flip three houses

Although I’d love to 10x this goal, I’m staying realistic and want to focus on organizing our deal flow to better plan and execute projects back-to-back instead of the 2-3 month lull we had this year. If we do this, we can reach this goal.

      3. Help add another income stream to the urgent care.

This goal doesn’t involve my business, but I have an opportunity to man the start of a new income stream in the urgent care that I work for. I’m excited to grow personally and professionally while tackling this goal this year. It will be an opportunity to provide more patient care while creating a new revenue stream for the business.

What are your top 3 personal goals in 2025?

        1. Create cozy office space.

Currently, my office is the dumping ground for extra things that don’t have a space, but one of my goals is transforming this space into a cozy work area this year. I need a functional, organized space that has a space for the kids to join me in there when needed. I want to be able to stay present and still productive and creative.

          2. Run a 10k

I am a competitor through and through, and although I have never loved running, it’s always been a part of my training. My knees haven’t held up as much as I would like, but training for something has always motivated me. I want to run a race this year for the first time since college and continue focusing on my physical health.

            3. Travel more

Travel is a way for our family to disconnect from the chaos and create memories. We have traveled some since we had the new baby this summer, but not as much as we would have liked. I aim to take at least one trip a month, even if it’s just a small weekend getaway, and make sure we make the most of our family time together. We already have the first 4 months of the year booked up for 2025, so I want to ensure we finish the year making many memories with the kids.

What are your top 3 financial goals in 2025?

              1. Accumulate assets

I made this goal last year and did not complete it. So, this year, I want to start accumulating rental properties. One project close to my heart is creating a sober living property in our community. By partnering with a management company to handle the operations, we might be able to bring this to life, which will also increase our cash flow. Even if we don’t make sober living happen, traditional rentals will suffice; I just want to start owning more assets, which I haven’t prioritized yet.

                2. Reduce debt

We have paid off most of our high-interest debt, but in 2025, I want to make strides to reduce our low-interest debt. The rest of our debt is our mortgage, a small amount of business debt, and our student loans. This will free up more funds for investments and business opportunities.

                  3. Stretch income

This is a standing goal for me as I am always looking for ways to increase my income. However, putting a number on it will make it more measurable. I want to increase our active and passive income by 25% this year. I am excited to see what opportunities will help make this happen.

How do you plan to keep yourself accountable?

Writing this and putting it out there is the best way to keep myself accountable. I can reflect on my goals regularly and plan to write a mid-year check-in on the goals to gear up for the second half of the year to make strong efforts to meet my goals. I will share progress on the blog as well. I’m a firm believer in competing with yourself. Let’s make 2025 a year of growth and success, moving ourselves closer to FI.
